1st Year Students 2022-2023

On Thursday 12th May an information evening was held for the parents of incoming 1st-year students. The presentation delivered at this session is accessible in the resources section below.

Below is a summary of key information delivered at the presentation:

  • The first day of school will be Monday 29th August 2022. Only 1st-year students will be in school on that day. They will meet their tutor, be assigned their class and timetable, and will get a tour of their new school.
  • Parents have received login details for our school communications platform, Compass. All parents are requested to download the Compass School Manager app to their phone from the App/Play Store and log in using the details received. If there are any issues following the meeting please email
  • NB: never share your login details for Compass. These are unique to you. Each student will receive their own login for the platform in September
  • School day will run 8:50 - 3:50 (Mon - Thurs) and 8:50 - 1:05 (Fri)
  • Students will have a 15-minute break and 45-minute lunch each day. Students are not permitted to leave the school premises at any time during the day
  • The 1st-year booklist is available in the resources section, below
  • Parents can sign up to book rental on Compass from Jun 8th - Jun 17th
  • Students will take part in a language and optional subject taster programme during their first term. Following this, they will choose one language and two option subjects to study to junior cycle level

Vehicular entry to the school grounds is not permitted. Entry through the front gate is for staff and those with permits only. If traveling by car please park safely in a surrounding area and give due consideration to pedestrians entering and exiting the premises.

Students are encouraged to consider walking, cycling or using public transport as their primary means of getting to and from school.
